About Us

LiquidXR is an expanding, well-funded, early-stage company building a platform to digitize human movement. We are creating next-gen wearables with hardware, machine learning and software. We are partnered with several high-quality companies co-developing products using our technology across multiple areas of use (sports performance, wellness, robotics/AI, clinical/healthcare, and gaming/XR).

Our tight knit hardware and software team is comprised of experts in product hardware and software design and commercialization and are passionate about creating transformative platforms.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Manufacturing Technician to build and run the prototype production line for our wearable devices in our new Los Angeles facility. This is a role for a technician who follows a process precisely, keeps clean records, spots when something on the line is not right, and works with engineering to improve and optimize.

What You'll Do

  • Build electronic circuits and panels: Run the full panel build process to work instructions.
  • Assemble products: Integrate electronics into soft goods using a range of manufacturing processes.
  • Inspect and test: Perform tests and inspections: check in-process panels and run functional tests.
  • Documentation: Complete build travelers, logs and test data accurately; calculate and report results.
  • Production Line Bring up / Setup: Help install, calibrate and qualify equipment under engineering supervision.
  • Engineering Support: Execute IQ/OQ/PQ and run trial and qualification builds alongside engineers.
  • Keep equipment running: Perform daily startup and shutdown, routine maintenance and calibration checks.
  • Throughput and yield: Meet prototype build demand; troubleshoot first-level issues and escalate early.
  • Manage materials: Receive, inspect, store and track materials and consumables. Flag shortages.
  • Keep the lab safe and clean: Follow chemical handling, ESD, particulate control and waste procedures.
  • Collaborate: Work with mechanical, electrical and soft goods engineers on prototype builds.
  • Experiments and improvement: Carry out experiments as requested, give hands-on feedback on manufacturability, and suggest improvements to work instructions.

What You'll Bring (Qualifications)

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field, or a technical certificate in electronics or manufacturing technology, strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years as a manufacturing or engineering technician in prototype, pilot-line or low-volume production, preferably in flexible or printed electronics, PCBA.
  • Industry Experience: Having worked in industries such as consumer, industrial, defense, medical devices or wearables.
  • Process skills: Hands-on experience with lamination, heat press, laser cutting, adhesive bonding or dispensing, and fine assembly under a microscope.
  • Electronics basics: Soldering and rework, multimeter use, and handling sensitive components under ESD controls.
  • Documentation: Experience in a regulated or documented environment (ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP) a plus.
  • Tools: Comfortable with basic Microsoft and Google applications, shared drives, and lab and test instruments.
  • Physical: Able to stand or sit for long periods doing intricate handwork, move and lift lab equipment and materials up to 25 lb, and wear PPE.
  • Nice to have: Soft goods or sewing experience, cleanroom or controlled-environment work, chemical handling, 3D printing for fixtures.

Who You Are

  • Precise and Detail-Oriented: You follow the process step by step and notice when something looks wrong.
  • An Owner: You take responsibility for the quality of every part you build and for the condition of your line.
  • A Proactive Driver: You keep builds moving, flag problems early, and bring ideas to make the process better.
  • Coachable and Curious: You learn new processes quickly, ask questions, and apply feedback from engineers.
  • A Team Player: You communicate clearly and work well with engineers, designers and outside partners.
  • Adaptable and Resilient: You are comfortable in a startup where processes are still being set up and priorities shift.
  • Organized: You keep your bench, materials and records in order so anyone can pick up where you left off.

Compensation, Benefits, Hours

This is a full-time, on-site position in our Los Angeles facility, which houses our R&D and prototype manufacturing and testing equipment. Pay range will be commensurate with experience. You will be provided with health care benefits (currently, gold PPO coverage with Blue Shield, as well as dental and vision) starting within 30 days of employment. We are an open PTO company. Hours are generally standard weekday shifts; occasional extended hours may be needed during line bring-up and builds.
